Welcome to Champions League 2008
Your players can earn points to your team during the group stages og the 2008/2009 UEFA Champions League which takes place from September 16th until December 10th.
The better your players perform, the better your chances become, when it comes to conquering the top of the rankings as well as the prizes that are at stake. It is free to participate and you need to pick 11 players and a coach for your team.
You can submit your team throughout the group stages of the UEFA Champions League 2008/2009, but in order to have a chance to win the top prizes, you should submit your team before the first match starts, meaning before September 16th 20:45 CET. If 2 or more managers end up with the same number of points, the team that was submitted first, wins.
Rules
In Champions League Manager 2008, you can select between more than 600 players that participate in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League 2008/2009.
You have a budget of 100.000.000 virtual Euro and need to buy :
1 goal keeper
3-5 defenders
3-5 midfielders
2-3 strikers
1 coach
Only 2 players from each team is allowed.
Registration
In order to participate, you need to register, with name, address, age, gender, valid email address, username and password. Once you have registered and logged in, you are ready to select your team.
When you want to select a goalkeeper, click on ‘goal keeper’ under ’Position’ and click the ‘Search’ button and only goal keepers will be displayed. You are also able to search for a certain country or within a particular price interval.
When you have found a player, you want to have in your team, you click on the player and drag him onto the pitch and release him by no longer clicking the mouse button. The system will automatically place him in the correct chain (goal, defence, mid field, striker, and coach) and once 11 players and a coach has been selected, the system also tells you, what formation you selected.
Apart from this, the system tells you what funds you have left, every time you have selected a player.
If you regret one of your selections, move the mouse cursor over the player, a ‘-‘ sign will appear and by clicking on this sign, the player will be de-selected. If you already know who should replace him, simply click on this player and drag him over the shirt of the player you want to substitute and he will take his place
Once your team is complete and you have selected a team name, click on ‘submit team’ and your team is ready to be a part of EuroManager ‘08.
Should you discover that any of the info you have entered during your registration, please email us on euromanager@soccerstand.com
